On April 26, students interested in visiting Maine Maritime Academy had an amazing experience! They were invited to the bridge simulator, than boarded one of MMA's vessels and went out to sea! We ended the day with a visit to the planetarium to learn about celestial navigation!

Nokomis introduced new classes this year like Nick Miller's Haunted Waters: The How & Why of Fly Fishing. This course wades into the history, literature & cultural significance of the sport. Students develop knowledge & appreciation for waters & living things that inhabit them.




COW Week 2023 did not disappoint! The Clash of the Warriors is the ultimate display of Nokomis Pride, and our students brought a lot of wonderful energy to the building. We are so proud to be Warriors!










The GFWC Newport Woman's Club sponsors our art students each year for the Maine High School Art Contest. This year we had over 30 students participate by creating art and preparing it for the contest by framing and matting the work. All of the work created was incredible but the top 4 moving on to the next level of the competition are: 1st place Senior Sophia Israel, 2nd place Sophomore Danica Migliore, 3rd place Freshman Amber Haining, and Honorable Mention Junior Sydney King. Congratulations to these students!

Congratulations to Amber Scholten for her acceptances to Maine Maritime Academy, Johnson and Wales, Husson University, Mass Maritime Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy! Amber will attend the USMMA in the fall! Wowzers!
