This week at Nokomis Regional High, National Honor Society, has been hosting a Cancer Awareness Week. Each day students and staff have worn colors to bring awareness to different types of cancer. Many families in our community have been affected with cancer. Today, Thursday, is Brain Cancer Awareness, the color is gray.
Tonight at Fill the Gym night- National Honor Society will have a table in the Lobby and will be collecting donations (either monetary or small children's item) to make care baskets for children who are battling cancer at Northern Light Hospital in Bangor. The baskets will be delivered to children the week before Christmas. Items that can be donated are: coloring books, crayons, books, infant items, puzzles, small toys, etc.
If you would like to support the National Honor Society in this service project, please stop by their table tonight at Fill the Gym night or donations can be dropped off in the Nokomis Office.
The Varsity boys game is at 5:00pm and the Varsity girls game is at 6:30p.m.
