Nokomis Regional Middle School will be hosting a book study for parents and staff about the book Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, which explores the impact of smartphones on the mental health of adolescents. The study will be from 5pm- 6pm on Tuesdays, twice a month beginning on March 17. If interested and for more information about the book or the study itself, please click the link below.

Members of the PTA will be at school tomorrow morning to collect Valentine's Cupcake pre-orders. Please be sure to send all pre-order forms with students on February 4, 2026.

Starting Monday students should no longer be allowed to receive Door Dash deliveries to the school between the hours of 7:45 to 2:15. Students have access to free school lunch as well as daily snacks and snacks here in our food closet. If students prefer, they can pack a lunch and snacks from home. Thank you for your understanding.

Tomorrow the 8th Grade will be hosting their annual Maine Sampler, from 8:30 to 11, a fundraiser to help pay for their end of the year activities. We ask that anyone coming to support our students please park in bus parking in front of the school. To avoid bus traffic, please don't arrive before 8:30 and leave by 11:30. Thank you!

The 8th grade will be hosting the Maine Sampler from 12/17 at 8:30 - 11:00. Parents and family are welcome to come.

For those of you unaware of what the Maine Sampler is, it's a fundraiser the 8th grade puts on every year to raise money for their class. Students make products that have a connection to Maine (occasionally they are a stretch) and sell them.

Good Morning! Presently we have 3 tables full of nice jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, boots, water bottles, glasses and assorted other items in our Lost and Found here at NRMS. Please remind your child to swing by and retrieve any of their missing items as everything will be delivered for donation during Winter Break. Thank you!

RSU 19 has recently been notified by the Maine Department of Transportation and Newport PD we are no longer able to have any cars pulled over on the side of the Williams Road waiting to pick students up. Therefore, starting Monday, 11/3, we are asking that the line of cars in the pick-up lane beside the middle school pull forward all the way to the stop sign in that lane. You may still park in the turn-off lane by the entrance but no longer beyond that lane on the grass. If there is no room after the turn-off lane, there is a parking lot across the street where pick-ups can park until dismissal and then make their way over at 2:15. Thank you all for your flexibility and understanding as we try to find a solution for this new stipulation.

This is a reminder that tomorrow, October 24, there will be no school for students as it is a District Wide workshop day for teachers. Thank you and enjoy the weekend!

Good news! We're adding a bonus day for our Book Fair on Monday. This will be one last opportunity for students to shop and purchase any books they may have missed earlier in the week. If we can get $300 more in sales, we can earn some cash rewards for Nokomis Regional Middle School's library.

Just a reminder that this Friday, October 17, is Picture Retake Day here at NRMS!

Just a reminder to everyone joining us for Parent Conferences today or tomorrow, Sawyer's Food Truck and Darling's Ice Cream Truck will be on site for your dining and dessert pleasure! We look forward to seeing you all!!

In an effort to prioritize student safety and out of an abundance of caution, we kindly ask that all parents and caregivers enter the designated middle school drop-off/pick-up parking area when picking up students at the end of the day. Students are NOT permitted to meet vehicles along the Williams Road for safety reasons.

This is to let everyone know that Parent Conferences at NRMS are on October 14 & 15. A letter and sign-up form was sent home with students last Friday. If that letter didn't reach you, please contact your child's homeroom teachers to set up a meeting. Thank you!

Good Afternoon Warrior Nation! Starting Tuesday, September 30 the outer loop in the front of the HS/MS campus will no longer serve as a drop off/pick up zone. It will only be used for staff and guest parking from 8:30- 1:30. For safety purposes all student drop offs before school and any student pick ups at dismissal will need to take place at the drop off area between the middle school staff parking lot and the middle school as originally designed.

Reminder: The PTF fundraiser, Buckets for Benefits, ends this Friday, September 26th. Please send all orders and money into the NRMS office by Friday. Orders will NOT be accepted later than Monday, September 29th. Thank you for supporting fundraising efforts sponsored by the PTF organization.
