Nokomis Regional Middle News

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

We are entering unprecedented times and although we have some basic plans in place, everything is still evolving.  At this time, we have prepared grade level work that we would like students to work on while they are out.  The staff has assembled a blended mix of assignments that should help students stay in “school mode” with the general guide being to have students engage in learning activities/opportunities at least a few hours a day.  We are trying to be flexible with the educational expectations during this time and our ultimate goal is to make sure students don’t regress.   Staff will be checking their emails and connecting with families during the closure so don’t hesitate to reach out.  State testing has been put on hold at this time.

Here are some basic tasks students can be participating in:

  • Checking Infinite Campus to get caught up on missing work.  Parents

should also be logging in and checking for owed work.

  • Reading and journaling. Working on math facts/foundational skills.

  • Completing work assembled by staff.

  • Communicating with teachers via email (parents as well).

Our school buildings will be closed to the public during this time.  Please feel free to contact us by phone, 355-3600, or email us with any questions.  Thank you for your understanding and support. We are all in this together!

Sincerely,

Angela Brown
