School Consolidation Update

Update on St.Albans, Somerset, Harland consolidation

As of July 24th

Denise Kimball will be the principal of the Somerset 3-8 building

The district will search for an administrator for the St. Albans building

Moving process:

Most classrooms have been moved, the last few will be moved the first week of August.

Class assignments:

Teachers will be sending out welcome letters to their students in the near future. These letters will include supply lists. Mrs. Kimball is gone the week of the 24th through the  28th and will be assisting with this process in the first two weeks of August.

Dean will be creating the pickup and drop off times for St. Albans and Somerset runs. We will get these out in an update as soon as they are ready.  They will be approximate for the first few days of school. We will also post our runs in the Rolling Thunder Newspaper.

The kitchen will have more equipment than before and has some updates. We have purchased two new computer carts for rolling technology labs, one for St.Albans and one for 3rd and 4th grade in Somerset. We will also be making available some of the older student laptops if teachers would like them in the classroom.

The playground is still slated for the first phase of construction: we are in hopes it comes as early as possible and prior to the first hard frost.
