Newport Elementary School held its annual Proud to Be Me Day, where students celebrate their diversities and speakers come to teach students about their areas of specialty.
Some of the things we learned about were recognizing people's strengths; different jobs; adapting to a physical disability; realizing you are perfect the way you are; internet safety; and bully prevention.
The school would like to thank the following speakers for volunteering their time to make the day a success: Sherri Hopkins and her eighth grade students, Alpha One, Amanda Chretien, Adam Vashon, Amanda Smith, Cami, Mr. Potter, Penquis Cap, Drew Graves, and Mary Nadeau.
